After leaving Orange City, the gang gets lost in the woods. Kouen becomes disagreeable about the poor quality of their rations. Over a campfire, Shiro remembers how she and Emri met, and also explains why she tagged along on their escape from Violet Town.

NOTES

• Kouen's reluctance to eat Emri's "home"-made food was a self-reference to my own stingy eating habits.
• The city that Emri sees at the end of the issue was not intended to be Blue Springs, the setting of issue four. This confused some readers who thought that issues three and four were directly connected, but they in fact occur months apart from each other.
